About

Lucas Cross

Live in Jacksonville, Florida. However, I come from a small town just two hours south of Chicago.

As a student at Florida State College majoring in cyber security, I’m employed as a glass technician and I actually enjoy the work I do. I am also an alcoholic in recovery and take my sobriety very seriously. I have many hobbies I enjoy on the side such as writing, not only poems but I also write in a journal to gather my thoughts. I’ve found that to be very rewarding.

My ultimate goals are to remain sober, and to graduate from school in the next two years.

I would say getting sober is my greatest achievement. Aside from that, leaving my job of four years and starting over at a new one. Putting myself in a state of discomfort to reap the rewards that come after has proved beneficial.

Most of my writing will be centered around sobriety, my spiritual awakening, and expectations from foreign domains.

About Schade Acacia

Lucas Cross

The only emotion I can feel is sad

The doctors call it depression

Health insurance is scarce

A livable wage is not an option

The government’s to blame

They’re worried about the next election

Fuck your mental health

We gave you the American dream

One that’s been soiled from passed generation

Now we’re blowing off some steam

They call it riots

We call it having a dream

Waking up in an institution

This could have been averted

How, you ask ?

Perhaps giving me some fucking purpose

A livable wage and a chance

And soon you realize

A generational curse does determine your worth

And it’s all been a scheme,

because in the United States of America

you are not allowed to dream.
